"Stories beyond words"

I was six when my dad opened a small bag

and took a funny object out of it. It was his dear Canon A1.

Looking at a mirror, he revealed the secret behind the magic:

“Everything that you see is light that bounces on objects and comes into your head through that little, dark window in the middle of your eyes. Photography works pretty much in the same way.”

When I turned sixteen my mom gave me a present that would change my world for the rest of life: my first reflex camera, a digital one.

Fifty, one hundred, one thousand photos and beyond! I lost the count very quickly. The world became a wonder I loved to explore through the lens. No need for words.

Later, the stars aligned. I met a wonderful artist: Enrique Villaseñor. He became my mentor. And for the next 10 years, he introduced me to photography as art and a way of expression. I learn about composition: technique, aesthetics and storytelling.

“Photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as of a precise organisation of forms which give that event its proper expression.”

-Henri Cartier-Bergson

Several years after, I started my own journey. I became facinated in exploring the boundaries of language and started  painting stories beyond words.
